Combining Event Design and PR for a Spooky October Feature

For the October issue of At Home in Arkansas, our team at Meredith Corning PR had the privilege of bringing an Edgar Allan Poe-inspired photo shoot to life, blending literary Gothic romance with luxurious details for a hauntingly beautiful look. This shoot, which unfolded within the moody interiors of a private residence, was far more than a simple design project. By tapping into our event planning expertise and PR strategy, we were able to create not only an editorial feature but also a strategic publicity campaign that showcased the talents of our clients Vibrant Occasions Catering, Rose of Sharon Floral Design Studio, and Weaver Films.

Our dual mastery in event design and public relations allows us to achieve results for our clients that set Meredith Corning PR apart from other agencies. Working with our sister company, Meredith Events, we coordinated every detail of the shoot in-house, making it possible to conceptualize, execute, and showcase the event all under one roof. This close collaboration gives our clients the full advantage of our hands-on creative approach, one that doesn’t rely on external third parties to bring an idea to life.

The PR Magic: Landing Multiple Features for Our Clients

What made this project particularly successful was the extensive press we garnered for our clients. While At Home in Arkansas published the shoot in their October issue, our PR team went a step further by securing three additional blog features on their website. These blog posts included detailed information about each client’s contribution, along with social media posts that tagged and credited each one.

By working with At Home in Arkansas to go beyond the print feature, we ensured that each client’s role in the shoot was fully acknowledged, enhancing their visibility and reinforcing their individual brands. Vibrant Occasions Catering’s expertly curated dishes, Rose of Sharon Floral Design Studio’s striking arrangements, and the cinematic reels captured by Weaver Films were all highlighted across multiple platforms, building momentum and reach that extended well beyond the pages of the magazine.

A Unique Advantage: In-House Video Content with Weaver Films

Although At Home in Arkansas used their in-house photography for the print feature, we added an exclusive video element by involving Brian Weaver of Weaver Films, whose creative reels gave our clients a further edge in social media visibility. Brian joined us on the morning of the shoot to film dynamic video reels, capturing every detail and behind-the-scenes moment that could be shared across social platforms. This unique addition not only engaged followers with a more immersive view of the shoot but also gave Weaver Films a featured mention and backlink in one of the blog posts on At Home in Arkansas’s website, an impressive accomplishment for a PR client not originally part of the print feature.

Amplifying Reach Through Shared Content

One of the unique benefits of working on a project like this, where several of our clients are involved, is the amplification effect it creates for all of us. Because we’re all contributing to the final outcome, each participant has a stake in sharing the success. Not only does Meredith Corning PR and Meredith Events blog about the project with detailed credits and backlinks, but our clients, like Vibrant Occasions Catering, Rose of Sharon Floral Design Studio, and Weaver Films, often join in by publishing their own blogs with credits and backlinks to everyone involved. This approach goes beyond traditional PR, forming a robust web of content across multiple platforms.

The collective effort doesn’t stop at blogging; we also share widely across social media, with each vendor tagging and crediting the others. This synergy is incredibly valuable because it generates a continuous flow of fresh content, benefiting everyone’s visibility and engagement. When all involved are committed to supporting and tagging one another, we create a multi-dimensional campaign that resonates across various audiences. It’s this team-oriented approach that maximizes exposure, builds mutual trust, and ensures every contributor sees a tangible benefit from the project.

Standing Out

At Meredith Corning PR, our approach to public relations is both inventive and resourceful. We’re able to leverage our event planning and design expertise through Meredith Events, allowing us to conceptualize ideas that we can execute with precision and creativity. For clients like Vibrant Occasions Catering, Rose of Sharon Floral Design Studio, and Weaver Films, this means receiving comprehensive support that blends the best of PR with hands-on event production…a true differentiator in our field.

By keeping all aspects of the creative and strategic processes in-house, we’re able to offer clients a seamless, efficient experience where they don’t have to worry about coordinating separate vendors or external organizers. Instead, they can rely on us to not only pitch creative concepts but also bring them to fruition in a way that maximizes exposure and impact.
